Clearing the Bush smoke (and mirrors)

Bush proconsul Allawi tells the US and the world that the problem in Iraq is "pockets of terrorists." One doesn't even need to have the sound on for the TV news to know better. Now the NY Times (9/29/04) reports that in the last 30 days, there have been over 2,300 attacks against civilians and military targets in almost every major population area outside the Kurdish north. There have been almost 1,000 attacks just in Baghdad in the last month.
